Powers & Jurisdiction

The Civil Appellate High Court of Trincomalee exercises provincial appellate and revisionary jurisdiction under the Constitution and statutory enactments, hearing appeals from subordinate courts within its jurisdiction.

Civil Appellate Jurisdiction

Appeals arising from final judgments, decrees, and orders delivered by the District Courts within the Trincomalee judicial zone.

Revisionary Jurisdiction

Revision applications arising from interlocutory and final orders of District Courts to correct errors of procedure or law.
